What is Window Film ?

Window Films are micro-thin membranes of layered polyester film and according to the performance characteristics of the film can be:

Metallized(vapour deposition method): So thin that visual clarity is unimpeded. The alloy used in this process acts as a solar energy reflector and combats the excessive transmission of the sun's heat and the glare from visible light. Some Metallized films can also appear mirrored ideal for providing privacy.

Dyed: Special dyes are introduced deep into the body of the polyester that produce graded shades and colours to meet architectural and design demands. Dyed films are also extensively used in Auto-Tint applications where the non-reflective (NR) properties are an aid to driving safety by allowing better visibility.

Thick: Multi-laminate, clear (or combined with a metallized or dyed layer) to add safety, bomb blast resistance, security (anti-bandit) and anti-graffiti to glazing.

U.V. Stabilized: With UV inhibitors introduced deep into the body of the polyester and within the adhesive layer to protect itself, fabrics, textiles, painted and prepared surfaces, natural wood fittings and furnishings and your precious skin.

Scratch Resistant: A very tough scratch-resistant coating ensures durability.

Window Film is fast and clean to install with minimal disruption.

Did You Know ?

With the summer sun shining directly on glazing, the transmission of solar energy (heat) through the glass can be as much as 750 W/m2 which is the equivalent to that produced by a double panelled radiator of equal size. Solar Control window film will cut up to 80% of the sun’s total energy transmission, whilst still maintaining good light-levels. Reducing the load on air-conditioning units helps to reduce energy costs and carbon dioxide emissions. Solar Control Film also assists heat retention during Winter months.

Light levels from the summer sun can often exceed 10,000 lumens. On average a natural light level of as low as 800 lumens is sufficient to read without the use of electric lights. Applied to effected glazing Solar Control window film can reduce glare,s and actually help increase ambient light levels by allowing curtains and shutters to be opened. Reflective Solar Control films can also provide 'daylight-privacy' allowing views out through the glass whilst preventing visual intrusion during daylight hours

Ultra Violet Light (UV) causes approximately 33% of fading. Solar Control window film fitted to glass can cut UV radiation by up to 99% helping to protect fabrics, textiles, painted and varnished surfaces, natural wood features, furniture, fittings and most important of all your precious skin.
